The TECM Artists was formed out of the recognition that for over forty yearsa group of artists who studied at what was then called SoutheasternMassachusetts University (SMU) under the tutelage of four professors: Ed Togneri, Bill Elliot, Herb Cummings and Frank McCoy are still making art today, through us. "Although our mentors are no longer with us their influence has lived on in our collective work."
Since the early 70’s when this group met in art school (including others not participating in this show) they have kept in contact and all are committed to the arts. There have been yearly get togethers and in 2016 the artists established quarterly meetings to support each other and their art.
This show will contain new work by each artist represented, plus a unique show of old artwork from each, dating back to the seventies and early eighties.
The event is in the gallery of the Pawtucket Arts Collaborative which has been in existence since October of 2000. The Mission: “Dedicated to supporting, promoting and developing the highest level of the arts for the community and its artists by creating awareness, education and involvement with our members and the public-at-large.”
Artists Participating: Robert Brodesky, David Dauer, Robert Dec, Ron Fortier, Gail Edwards, Marsha Goodwin and Denyse Wilhelm.
Although they are no longer with us we feel their art continues to exist through us and all those who were taught by them. They are: Herb Cummings, Willoughby (Bill) Elliot, Frank McCoy and Edward Togneri
