Winter Season Show Schedule

Each year the Collaborative invites members to hold a short-term exhibition during the Winter and Summer months when otherwise the gallery would be closed.

The schedule for exhibitions during January-February 2022 are:

Jan 14 to 24 Khaled Alkhani. Opening Reception on January 15, 2022 from 4pm-8pm

We are proud to sponsor the work of  this internationally known Syrian artist

"Khaled was born in 1975. At the age of seven, his father was cruelly assassinated during the Hama massacres. He draws, paints and frequents painters' art studios. He then leaves for Damascus. At the Beaux-Arts, he sells paintings to live his student life. Soon after, he had exhibitions in Damascus, Kuwait and Jordan. With 2010 comes the major breakthrough. He becomes Khaled Alkhani and masters hisartistic vocabulary. After participating in a protest against the current regime, he must flee Syria. He arrives in France in 2011. His French and European adventure finally begins."

Of his work critic Christian Noorbergen says

"If the graphic directory revolves around a primary source, which is the skeleton. Very quickly, like an automated writing, The drawing opens itself up to shock and fear.(…) Spontaneous drawings, vibrant, seismographic, are pushed to a burning frenzy. Dionysiac and fabulously metamorphic, the chromatic work is prodigious ini ts expansion and freedom. (...) Thus breathes life into the sumptuous human artworks of Khaled Alkhani"

Feb 5 to 14 Robert Snowden  "Coming Up For Air"

Feb 18 to 28  Dan Borden
Dan's show is called "Buildings" and about it he says "My approach is experimental – to create images that transform the ordinary and capture the commonplace in new ways; searching the world for scenes that often remain hidden. My approach is testimony to the interplay between artist control and happenstance - to leave the door open for Chance, so the resulting photographs display unexpected visual power and bring new meanings to what we see every day."
